I think I’m going to run another Half Marathon in October. Feel free to join : )

I am a busy individual this semester. In between my frequent trips for job interviews, I feel as if I am constantly engulfed in meetings for various projects. As a result, I have done a rather terrible job of blogging lately. I hope you’ll forgive me.
A lot has happened since I last posted. In case you don’t ever talk to me, I must inform you that the Boston Red Sox did in fact conquer all of baseball and bring home the World Series for the second time in four years. It was a wild conclusion to the Cleveland series, and another lackluster World Series in which the NL counterpart did not come out ready to play. I think the eight day layover really hurt Colorado. Still, it was a great for them to even be in the playoffs, let alone the World Series. Nevertheless, one should never have to turn off a playoff game because they feel embarrassed to watch the other team perform.
In other news, I spend nearly all of my limited spare time these days practicing my guitar skills. I promise you that my ability is still mediocre, but you might notice a slight change for the better… at least I do. Lately I have been working on “Wonderwall” by Oasis, “Slide” by the Goo Goo Dolls, “Wonderwall” covered by Ryan Adams, “Come Pick Me Up” by Ryan Adams, “The Quiet Things that No One Ever Knows” by Brand New, and “She Sends Kisses” by The Wrens. Also, I would like to say that I rediscovered (Whats the Story) Morning Glory? by Oasis, and I really think it is one of my top three or four albums of the nineties.
This weekend I finally made it out to the Champaign Family Video for the first time this semester, so I am going to go watch a few episodes of Friday Night Lights before I get back to studying for my finance exam tomorrow. I’ll let you know whether I enjoy the show or not, I’m kind of excited after the things I’ve heard about it. At least maybe it will keep me occupied while all of my favorite shows start switching to reruns after the WGA strike.
I just watched “The Job” (season finale) rerun on TV tonight. Here are some observations/favorite quotes:
Now I’m off to see This Is Me Smiling and Maserati.

Hi guys,
I really don’t have too much to report here. I’m pretty tired right now. The more I rewatch Arrested Development, the more I am convinced FOX is pathetic for not marketing the show better. The entire production was just so fantastic on so many different levels. Right now I still can’t get the jingle that always plays when Michael is doing stuff with Marta out of my head. I call it a jingle because after searching through the Season One DVD Extras, I found that the short clip they always play includes all of the lyrics they ever wrote for the song. I never realized that the vast majority of the music on that show was created specifically for the episodes. Just another tidbit that makes me appreciate it even more.
In other news, I am most likely getting a new car before I head down to Austin. When I say new car, I really mean new, used car. I am way too cheap to buy a new car, so I will probably end up getting a used car from within the last couple of years. Can’t say what yet, talk to me after April 28th.
I don’t have anything else to say really, aside from the fact that I am disappointed I still haven’t gotten a chance to redesign my blog yet. Someday…
P.S. who caught The Office’s shoutout to Arrested Development in the Safety Training episode (indubitably anyone?).

Congratulations to the cast of The Office for their victory last night in the category of “Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series.” I look forward to great episodes still to come.
I don’t have much else to say today. My sister came up and visited this weekend, and we had a lot of fun. If you are into subtitles and dark movies, you will love Pan’s Labyrinth. If you aren’t you will undoubtedly be less than impressed, despite the fact that this is easily one of the top three movies of 2006.

I just thought you all should be aware of the travesty that occurred earlier this week at the Golden Globes. Apparently some idiots out there honestly feel that Ugly Betty is superior to The Office. It should be said up front that I do not hate Ugly Betty, but I certainly don’t find it nearly as amusing as The Office. For one, the entire concept of the show was done (much better) this summer with The Devil Wears Prada. As a responsible television watcher, I just felt it was my place to inform you of this outrage.
This past year represented some of the best Office moments of all time. There is NO WAY that Ugly Betty could be more hilarious than watching Micheal Scott entertain his office. Could Betty successfully save her company, while balancing two girls at a time? Does Betty have Dwight? Enough said. In closing, I would just like to point out that my mother enjoys Ugly Betty every week, and the rest of my family watches The Office. I love my mother, but we’ve never really trusted her opinion of television.
For those of you who read this to actually learn about my life, I am back in Champaign now. Classes are going alright. I’m taking three business courses and only two CS this semester. It should be a good break.

Alright, so last night, I watched the last two episodes of season two of Lost. I’m not going to lie, waiting until October to see a new episode is going to kill me. I’ll probably be going through withdrawl. However, the number of pseudo-answers and mysteries that were developed in the last few episodes have definitely given me enough to ponder. Now my sister needs to catch up so that I can discuss all of my questions and theories with her, or at least post them here without giving her spoilers. However, the story I am telling really starts after I go to bed.
I finally fell asleep sometime close to 1:45am. At around two, I hear Andy open the front door, and some girl asks if we have a cheese grater. Then she asks if Andy is in Fin 300 and something about a screwdriver, and before I know it, there are two girls in our apartment sitting on the lovesac. At this point, I decided I should probably get up and throw some clothes on to investigate. Apparently, when you are high at 2am, tacos are the food of choice, and these poor girls had all of the ingredients aside from cheese. Unfortunately for them, we had just used all of our cheese on the tacos we ate for dinner. Ironic, I know. We then spent the next half hour or so visiting with one of the few social tenants of 1010 W Stoughton (the other girl didn’t really live here), learning about this mythical courtyard that apparently exists in our building, among other things. After a while, they decided it was time to re-embark on their mission of finding a cheese grater, and returning the disguisting one they borrowed from some girl they didn’t trust. This morning, on the way to class, I ran into them again and they informed me that they had in fact found a cheese grater (and a six sided one at that!). I’m pretty amazed because after all, who keeps a cheese grater in a college apartment? That is my story for yesterday.

As the title states, I am back in the fine city of Urbana, IL. Currently it is raining, and the mud on the sidewalks outside of my apartment is quite annoying. However, I only have one more reason to leave the apartment today– and it isn’t until five, so I’m not too worried.
In other news, I had a good time this weekend. I got to spend a ton of time with my sister, and watch a lot of Lost. That show is seriously as addicting as heroin. I just can’t stop watching. I also got to hang with Pat, Jen, Ross, and Nina at various times during the weekend. Its always good to see all of them. We saw The Illusionist on Saturday. I must admit it was pretty disappointing. A mediocre performance by Ed Norton and the always pathetic Jessica Biel, coupled with a predictable plot and dreary setting, really drained this movie of any potential it might have had. Oh well, it was still a good break from work/school.
