I’ve finally gotten sick of using NewsGator, so I think I’m going to hunker down and write my own RSS aggregator. I want to integrate all of my Twitter, Tumblr, Wordpress, Blogger, and News feeds into a site I can manage on my own. Plus, I kind of miss PHP and want a chance to use the Zend Framework again. I’m a nerd.

Why Reinvent The Wheel?
I’m currently listening to: Okkervil River - Title Track
You know, with my weblog I have always taken a lot of pride in having a non-standard design. Unfortunately, I no longer feel that I can put in the effort to make my designs look good and integrate well. For instance, if you tried to browse the archives of my site any time in the last three months you know that it looked terrible.
To remedy this solution, I have installed a theme I downloaded from somewhere. I think that this will look a lot nicer, and it reflects something that I have come to learn all too well in Computer Science. You shouldn’t waste your time tinkering with things that have already been done well. Instead, you should leverage the preexisting work, and improve upon the current framework. Who knows, maybe I’ll tweak this template to look even better? Probably not.
Anyways, enjoy the new look.
Spring (Cleaning?)
I’m currently listening to: Ted Leo & The Pharmacists - Timorous Me

Yesterday was the “first beautiful day of spring” in Champaign/Urbana (as a result, I received 5 points extra credit in Accounting). I’ll admit, while I may have a fascination with the cold, the first few days of spring sure are wonderful. Today we had one of those momentary downpours where the sun is still out. I didn’t even know that it was raining, until I heard the pitter-patter of the drops outside through my open window. It was pretty fantastic.
In unrelated (or maybe related: see title) news, I am working on a new, clean design for this blog. I can’t promise it will be up tomorrow or anything, but I think that everyone will appreciate it when it arrives. I wish my friends at MS would fix some bugs in IE 7, because that might make the process a bit easier, but it will get done nonetheless. At any rate, I have an exam I should be studying for. I’ll talk to you all later.
